Senior Justice Consultants with experience in Project Management (PhD/MA)

 

To reinforce our team and support IPS Innovative Prison Systems’ growth, we are searching for two senior consultants, with experience in transnational project management in the criminal justice area, to operate from our office in Lisbon.

 

Preferred candidates should:

  • Hold a PhD or Master’s degree (we are looking for one candidate holding a PhD degree and another candidate with a MA degree) in Criminology, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Management, Economics, or other relevant scientific areas;
  • Have at least five years of research and consulting experience in the criminal justice sector;
  • Have at least two years of project management experience;
  • Be fluent in Portuguese and English (mandatory), French and Spanish (optional);
  • Be available to travel in Portugal and, whenever possible, to the countries in which we operate (in Europe, North America and Latin America);
  • Be proficient in the use of MS Office apps and statistical analysis tools;
  • Be experienced in responding to bids, tenders and grants from European and International organisations (preferably);
  • Be knowledgeable of the EU funding mechanisms in the areas of Education, Justice and Home Affairs;

We are looking for an experienced Senior Researcher & Consultant to join our Radicalisation, Violent Extremism and Organised Crime Portfolio (Lisbon office, Portugal).

 

Mandatory requirements:

  • PhD or master’s degree in Criminology (preferred), International Relations, Sociology, Psychology (or related field);
  • Excellent command (at least C1 level) of English (both written and spoken);
  • At least 4 years of research and/or consulting experience in the field related to the Portfolio’s activity;
  • At least 1 to 2 years of project management (at EU-level) experience;
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office apps and statistical analysis software tools;
  • Availability to travel in Portugal and to the countries in which we operate;
  • Unimpeachable work ethic (incl. personal and professional integrity).

 

Advantage conferring requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience on responding to bids, tenders, and grants from European and international organisations;

Junior Financial Controller

 

As part of our recruitment process for the position of Junior Financial Controller (Portugal, Lisbon office), we are offering the opportunity for a 9-months internship followed by an employment contract for recent graduates.

 

Function description:

  • Supporting the organisation of the administrative and financial department;
  • Supporting project teams in the relationship with the accounting services;
  • Preparing budgets, forecasts and cash flows statements;
  • Analysing and controlling budgets;
  • Financial reporting.

Training and e-Learning Specialist

 

At IPS Innovative Prison Systems and ICJS Innovative Criminal Justice Solutions Inc., we are looking for a Training and e-Learning Specialist to enhance the competencies of individuals (our employees and professionals in the corrections’ sector) by designing and conducting training and e-learning courses.

You will be responsible for performing training needs assessments, designing, and delivering curriculum and learning materials and for managing all phases of training interventions.

 

Function description:

  • Identify training needs (knowledge, skills, competencies) using different state of the art methods;
  • Translate requirements into training;
  • Build training programmes and prepare learning plans;
  • Develop or oversee the production of learning and e-learning materials (handouts, instructional materials, aids and manuals);
  • Direct structured learning experiences and monitor their quality results;
  • Manage and deliver training courses;
  • Manage and deliver e-learning content and courses through our online academy (see Corrections Learning Academy);
  • Assess training and learning effectiveness;
  • Periodically evaluate ongoing programmes;
  • Stay abreast of the new trends and learning tools.

 

Requirements:

  • BSc, MA or MSc degree in Social Sciences, Education, Training, HR or a related field;
  • Proven experience in designing multiple training events in a corporate setting;
  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles;
  • Proven ability to master the full training cycle;
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management software;
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools and techniques;
