Matilde Cameira is a legal expert with a strong background in international law, corporate law, regulatory reform, and humanitarian operations. She holds an LL.M. in Law in a European and Global Context from Católica University Lisbon, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Lisbon.

With experience within international organizations such as the World Bank and the European Commission (at the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations), and law firms such as DLA Piper ABBC and Cruz Vilaça Advogados, Matilde has developed expertise in regulatory research, legal analysis, and public policy, with a focus on EU law, corporate law, and human rights. She has contributed to international projects aimed at strengthening legal frameworks and promoting effective governance.

Fluent in English, German, Spanish, and with working knowledge of French, Matilde is passionate about leveraging legal expertise to foster positive change in complex legal and regulatory environments, including the field of prison systems and reform.
