RAD/VE & OC - Junior Researcher & Consultant, Lisbon

At IPS_Innovative Prison Systems, we are looking for a Junior Researcher & Consultant to join our Radicalisation, Violent Extremism and Organised Crime Portfolio (Lisbon office, Portugal). As part of our recruitment process, we are offering a 12-month internship  or employment contract (depending on candidates’ expertise and skills). Both could potentially be followed by an extended (or no-fixed term) employment contract (conditional to IPS yearly job performance review).

Mandatory requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Criminology (preferred), International Relations, Sociology or Psychology (or related field);
  • Excellent command (at least C1 level) of English (both written and spoken);
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office apps and statistical analysis software tools;
  • Availability to travel in Portugal and to the countries in which we operate;
  • Unimpeachable work ethic (incl. personal and professional integrity).

Advantage conferring requirements:

  • Have previous experience in EU-funded projects;
  • Have carried out work/additional studies in the field of P/CVE, CT or Organised Crime (e.g., scientific publications, master thesis);
  • Have prior knowledge of P/CVE and CT concepts and EU policies;
  • Fluency in an additional language (e.g., French, Spanish).

Benefits:

  • Opportunity to develop a career working with a dynamic team and in an international environment;
  • Develop project management skills;
  • Possibility to work remotely (despite the mandatory in-person assignments abroad or team meetings in Portugal).

As our internships are very sought after, potential candidates will be selected based on a three-step procedure: i) curriculum evaluation (see mandatory and advantage requirements); ii) short written assignment; and iii) interview.

Please submit your application no later than January 13th, 2023.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity and join the IPS Team!
