PRACTICIES is a project involving twenty-five organizations headquartered in eight different countries – Portugal, France, Spain, Austria, Italy, Greece, Belgium and Tunisia – and it has received green light for funding by the European Commission, on January 27th 2017.
IPS_Innovative Prison Systems is one of the proud partners of this project, which falls under the scope of the Horizon 2020 programme (Security). It mobilizes networks of European cities and experts to better understand the roots of violent radicalisation and to characterize such negative phenomena.
To achieve those objectives, the initiative relies on the cooperation of experience in the field of urban security in cities and expertise of national structures to fight terrorism (25 partners from eight different countries, involving Government and law enforcement agencies, municipalities, research institutions and private organizations).
PRACTICIES aims to evaluate the existing procedures of registration, identification youth in the process of radicalisation in urban space; to describe and explain the social course of transition to radical action and to provide concrete strategies for action. It will kick off soon.
