IPS attended the 155th Congress of Correction of the American Correctional Association, held in Denver, Colorado, from August 21 to 26, 2025. Once again, the event brought together correctional professionals, policymakers, academics, and industry leaders dedicated to advancing corrections and strengthening public safety.
The 155th edition of the ACA Congress of Correction featured a diverse range of workshops, panels, and training sessions on relevant and emerging topics. From the role of artificial intelligence in correctional operations and innovations in healthcare, to reentry and rehabilitation programmes and the importance of organisational culture, attendees were able to explore how evidence-based practices and new technologies are reshaping the field.
Complementing the sessions, participants took part in facility tours, explored the exhibit hall showcasing innovative solutions, and engaged in valuable networking opportunities with professionals from across the United States and beyond.
The event also included a moment of reflection, as the community paused to honour and remember colleagues and professionals who are no longer with us.
For IPS/ ICJS USA this gathering was a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, partners, and friends who devote their professional lives to transforming correctional systems. Events such as the ACA Congress of Correction invite professionals not only to deepen their expertise but also to form new connections and build lasting partnerships that extend their impact across the world.
