Charline Barreira

Charline Barreira is a Franco-Portuguese professional with a multidisciplinary background in law and political science. She holds a dual Master’s degree in European and International Criminal Law from two French universities and completed postgraduate studies in European Political and Governance Studies at the College of Europe in Belgium.

Her academic and professional path reflects a strong commitment to justice, human rights, and democratic governance. She has gained experience through internships with NGOs working on transitional justice and international accountability. Her first thesis explored the complementarity between ICC and Truth and Reconciliation Commissions in addressing sexual violence against women and autochthons peoples. She later received an award for her second thesis, which analysed the cooperation between OLAF and the EPPO in the EU’s fight against corruption, highlighting how effective anti-corruption efforts are crucial to ensuring institutional integrity, enhancing political transparency, and building public trust in democratic systems.
