Nuno Pombo, Ph.D.
Research Team Leader, Predictive Analytics, Data Fusion, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Engineering
Nuno Pombo holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering. His current research interests include: information systems (with special focus on clinical decision support systems), data fusion, artificial intelligence, software engineering, and software. He is the coordinator of the Assisted Living, Computing and Telecommunications Laboratory (ALLab) at UBI.
He is an IEEE Senior Member. He is also member of BSAFE Lab Law Enforcement, Justice and Public Safety Lab, and IT Instituto de Telecomunicações at UBI. Nuno has around 90 scientific publications including book chapters, conference proceedings, and full-paper journals; e.g. IEEE Access, Applied Soft Computing, Computer Science Review, Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine, Pervasive and Mobile Computing, and Measurement, just to mention a few. He has strong experience in R&D and cooperation at European level projects with both academia and industry.
Nuno Pombo is Assistant Professor at University of Beira Interior (UBI), Portugal and leads the team focusing on predictive analytics, data fusion, artificial intelligence, and software engineering, in the framework of the strategic joint-venture between IPS Innovative Prison System and the BSAFE LAB of UBI University for digital transformation in corrections, in the framework of the HORUS iOMS 360 consortia.
