Joana Apóstolo

Joana Apóstolo holds a binational master’s degree in International Relations (University of Coimbra, Portugal and SciencesPo Bordeaux, France).

Her master’s dissertation was developed around the European Union as a security actor, which was further informed by her work in the field of political diplomacy in the scope of an internship at the Portuguese Permanent Representation to the European Union.

A strong interest in Human Rights and social impact motivated Joana to take part in several projects, including as UN Volunteer and at UNESCO and Amnesty International.

Joana is a member of the International Judicial Cooperation & Human Rights Portfolio team at IPS Innovative Prison Systems.
