LEADCOR- Occupational stress reduction in correctional settings

Aiming to reduce occupational stress levels inside prisons by enhancing the transversal skills, such as leadership and stress management, of prisons’ frontline and technical staff.

LEADCOR – Leadership development for occupational stress reduction in correctional settings project has been approved for funding by Erasmus + programme.

The project will contribute to the mitigation of the tensions between management, prison staff, inmates and inmates’ families, enabling considerable savings in personnel budgets by reducing early retirements and absenteeism, while improving the quality of work with inmates and, ultimately, enhancing opportunities for rehabilitation.

The consortium involved in this project is led by the Portuguese University Universidade da Beira Interior and includes partners from Portugal (IPS_Innovative Prison Systems. DGRSP – Direção-Geral de Reinserção e Serviços Prisionais) Germany (Bremen Senate of Justice and Constitution), Romania (Penitenciarul Baia Mare and Sindicatul National al Politistilor de Penitenciare) and Belgium (De Federale Overheidsdienst Justitie – Le Service Public Federal Justice).
