Empowering young Europeans with education on digital citizenship and civic engagement
Acknowledging the increasing need to prepare young people to navigate responsibly and ethically in an increasingly digital word, DIGIDEM will educate young Europeans on their rights and responsibilities as citizens, including the specificities of digital citizenship, by raising awareness of digital ethics, online security, and mutual respect in digital spaces.
For this, and through the enhanced support and capacitation of educational professionals, DIGIDEM encourages young people’s participation in democratic processes, allowing them to interact with key stakeholders, including educational decision-makers and experts, fostering a sense of belonging, agency, and empowerment, this way strengthening young people’s civic engagement.
To successfully achieve the goals above, DIGIDEM will offer support to digital engagement in higher education, planning and designing the integration of digital skills within a citizenship educational model, to be implemented into formal and non-formal education programs, ultimately contributing to better-designed educational curriculums.
