HORUS featured at TIC 2024 – Technology in Corrections Conference

IPS Innovative Prison Systems showcased their HORUS 360º intelligent Offender/Jail Management System at TIC 2024. The event attracted 300 delegates, including top corrections leaders. CEO Pedro das Neves presented on integrating diverse data to improve recidivism prediction through AI and ML. IPS Innovative Prison Systems proudly participated in the 5th Technology in Corrections Conference (TIC) in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 21-24 April 2024. This premier event, organised by the International Corrections and Prisons Association (ICPA) and the European Organisation of Prison and Correctional Services (EuroPris), brought together around 300 delegates, including Chief Information Officers and leaders from the corrections field, to discuss and explore the latest technological advancements in corrections.

Another highlight of IPS’s participation was the insightful presentation by CEO Pedro das Neves. His session, titled “Beyond Numbers: Integrating Expert Insights and Structured & Unstructured Data for Enhanced AI and ML Predictive Models,” captivated the audience. Pedro discussed the limitations of traditional recidivism prediction methods and demonstrated how HORUS 360º iOMS can overcome these challenges by incorporating diverse data sources, including post-release information, to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of offender management systems.

Pedro’s expertise and vision highlighted the potential of AI to revolutionise the corrections industry, emphasising the importance of integrating various data types to enhance predictive capabilities. This approach not only improves recidivism predictions but also supports a more individualised and effective correctional process, aligning with the conference’s theme of “Digital Rehabilitation.”
